Have your say on where the Star Wars franchise is going below.
With the sheer size of the Star Wars franchise, Episode VII was always going to be a big deal. J.J Abrams took on a daunting task when he agreed to helm the reboot following Disney’s acquisition of LucasFilms, but have the casting rumors got you excited?
Zac Efron is the latest name attached to the Star Wars franchise
The latest of those rumours concerns a certain former Disney employee, who has attempted to shake off his teen heartthrob reputation by doing, actually, very little at all. He stoked the fire when he confirmed a meeting with Disney and J.J took place.
Asked by MTV about the possibility of starring in the Jj Abrams-directed film, Efron said: "Yeah, I just went and met with them. So I don't know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but… who knows?"
Elsewhere, a whole host of names have been attached to the project: Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Asa Butterfield, Judi Dench, Jesse Plemons, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Taissa Farmiga and Aaron Paul are just a few we can recall. Basically, all the actors.
There are a few confirmed cast-members, though; the old guard are back in town and ready to strut their stuff decades after the first Star Wars film made them famous. That’s right, Mark Hammil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are in line for a return.
Fisher also appeared on the Jan. 30 episode of CBS's The Big Bang Theory, with fellow Star Wars actor James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader). "For the first time, the guys are unable to get Comic-Con tickets," says executive producer Steven Molaro.
"So Sheldon attempts to start his own convention. He needs a killer panellist, but everyone on his list hangs up on him. So he sets his sights on James Earl Jones and tracks him down." Can you guess where Fisher fits in?
