Aaron Taylor-Johnson has confirmed he's held talks with Joss Whedon about starring in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

The 23-year-old actor looks set to take on the role of Quicksilver - known for his superhuman speed, and his twin sister Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Studios flick - after meeting up with the director to talk over the part.

He said: ''I sat down with Joss, I think he's awesome, I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they're also great; I think it'd be interesting.''

While Aaron has not signed up for the role just yet, he was ''honoured'' to be linked with the part and said talks are ongoing about him starring in the motion picture.

He added to Collider: ''I feel really flattered and honoured that they came to me for that role. I think he's an interesting character and we're just gonna keep going into that.''

All of the core 'Avengers' cast are set to return for the 2015 follow-up film including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.

'The Avengers: Age Of Ultron' opens in the UK on May 1, 2015.
