Fact: Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is revamping Harper Lee's iconic novel To Kill a Mockingbird for the Broadway stage. Sorkin, who started his career as a playwright, has put together a new stage adaptation of the classic story, which is set to open on the Great White Way during the 2017-18 season.

Fact: Bosses at U.S. cable network HBO have picked up The Social Network screenwriter Aaron Sorkin's new TV drama The Newsroom for a second season, just a week after its premiere. The show, which stars Jeff Daniels as a quick-tempered newscaster, alongside actresses Emily Mortimer and Olivia Munn, debuted last week (24Jun12).

Fact: Aaron Sorkin made good use of his time at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (15Jan12) by scoping out the room for undiscovered talent. The Social Network scriptwriter, who's in the midst of casting for his upcoming TV series The Newsroom, approached a staffer at the Los Angeles Beverly Hilton Hotel and asked for his contact information to audition for the show.

Kennedy, JR.'s daughter, aspiring actress Kathleen 'Kick' Kennedy, has landed her first major film role - she has been cast in Aaron Sorkin's new American TV drama More As This Story Develops. Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel and Iron Man 2 star Olivia Munn have also signed on to the show.
