Maroon 5 frontman and 'The Voice' coach, Adam Levine, has won the prestigious award of Sexiest Man Alive for 2013.

The crown was given to the 34 year-old by People Magazine.

The news was announced on Tuesday's episode of 'The Voice' and it was surfaced online via People Magazine's twitter account.

"Here he is, your Sexiest Man Alive - ADAM LEVINE! #SexiestManAlive," the tweet read.

The singer seemed very pleased with the result and was modest when talking to the mag;

"As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table," the singer tells People in the week's forthcoming issue. "I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool."

Levine now joins an elite cast that includes Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum...not bad company to be in!

It is no doubt that the singer's ripped body played a part in him receiving the honour, he reveals his secret to those perfect abs are yoga and spinning.

Although he is the fantasy to women everywhere, they may need to be reminded Levine is off the market.

Adam is engaged to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo and tells the mag he is looking forward to settling down with her.

"I didn't think marriage was for me for a long time," the song-writer says. "I was ready when I was ready. That's about as simple as it could possibly be."

Congratulations to Adam Levine!
