Scott and Schwartzman were guests on late-night show Conan when he explained he had just found out about the outbreak at home.

His horrified co-star said, "Really? They truly have lice? Oh my God... That's terrible news... I've been with you the last two weeks all the time. We've put our heads together often... I'm so afraid of lice."

Host Conan O'Brien explained, "I want to make it clear to people this is not a bit... This is you admitting on television that you may have lice and that the person you've been travelling with around the country may also now have lice."

O'Brien arranged for two professional "nit pickers" to check through the actors' hair as the two stars promoted their new film and set up a clip.

It was subsequently discovered Schwartzman and Scott were lice free.
