The 39-year-old singer was arrested in August (15) amid allegations he kicked girlfriend Angelina Reed during an argument.

After posting bail, he denied Reed's claims, insisting he was acting in self-defence, and subsequently won an order of protection against his now-ex partner, who was told to stay away from the house they once shared with their four-year-old daughter, Malena.

Maroulis was also slapped with a restraining order by his ex, but he was busted days later for allegedly ignoring the no-contact ruling and accidentally copying Reed on an email intended for his lawyers.

On Wednesday (16Sep15), the singer and his lawyer, John Hogan, appeared in Wyckoff Municipal Court in New Jersey, where they informed the judge the couple had agreed to separate as part of a plea agreement.

Judge Russel B. Teschon agreed to dismiss the charges on condition no other complaints are filed for six months, according to Billboard.com.
