Amy Winehouse didn't think she'd live past 27.
The 'Back to Black' hitmaker - who tragically passed away at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning - told her close friends she wouldn't make it another year, Asif Kapadia, the director of 'Amy' has claimed.
He told the New York Post's Page Six column: ''I've spoken to quite a few people who said that when she was getting to 27, she was saying to them, 'I don't think I'm gonna get past this age.' Because it becomes a mental block for artists.''
Meanwhile, the late singer's best friend Juliette Ashby wants people to remember Amy for her talent rather than the tragic circumstances surrounding her death.
When asked what she thinks about Amy being dubbed as a junkie, she previously shared: ''That's not the truth. She does not deserve to be known like that. It's not fair. I want people to celebrate my best friend the same way that I do in my own head.
''Everyone looks at her and thinks of the horrible things that happened to her. I want people to focus on the fact she had a wonderful life. At the end she had clarity. She was just like you and me, she had a great life with great friends and she had a lot of fun but when it all got too big, it went wrong. That's the truth. She loved life and she was very happy and she was no different from anyone else.''
