Hit detective drama Sherlock was crowned king of Welsh Tv on Sunday night (26Oct514) when it scooped three top honours at the country's version of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards.

The show, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the supersleuth, was named best television drama and also picked up awards for production design and hair and make-up.

Sci-fi programme Doctor Who won the category for the special, visual effects and graphics at the ceremony in Cardiff, Wales, and reality show The Call Centre was named Best Factual Series.

Individual awards went to Tom Riley, who was named best actor for his work on Da Vinci's Demons, Griff Rhys Jones, who was crowned best presenter for his work on A Great Welsh Adventure, and Nerys Hughes, who won the Bafta Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to Television.
