Barry Manilow has reportedly got married.

The 'Copacabana' hitmaker reportedly wed his long-time manager Garry Kief in a secret ceremony last April, although details of the mystery occasion have only just been released.

A source close to Barry revealed the ceremony was also a shock for the 50 guests, who were invited for lunch at the couple's multi-million dollar mansion in Palms Springs only to be surprised when the singer announced they would be marrying that day.

The source told The National ENQUIRER: ''It was a total surprise. When they arrived they were told it was a wedding!

''Barry has lived a very secretive life and the wedding was no different! Barry and Garry did not tell friends or family that the occasion was their wedding.

''It was a beautiful wedding and consummated their lifelong love affair.''

A friend of the couple, Suzanne Somers, was the best man at the ceremony, while Barry's assistant since the 1980s, Marc Hulett, performed the ''commitment ceremony,'' after registering to become a minister online.

However, it is believed the couple chose not to file paperwork to formalise their marriage as they feared it would mean the news would leak, with the 71-year-old star nervous about how his fans would react to his sexuality.

The source added: ''Barry is paranoid that his fans would not approve of him being gay, when in reality, many have suspected it for years -- and most wouldn't care.

''They would be happy for him!''

The 'Mandy' singer married Susan Deixler in 1964 but filed for divorce less than a year later.

Although Barry and Garry have reportedly been together for 30 years, he said in 2012 he was ''happily single''.
