Julianne Moore's husband predicted she would win an Oscar the first time he saw 'Still Alice'.
The 54-year-old star picked up the Best Actress prize for her portrayal of Dr. Alice Howland, who suffers from early-onset Alzheimer's Disease,at the Academy Awards last night (22.02.15) and praised Bart Freundlich for all the support he has given her.
Speaking backstage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, she said: ''My husband has been amazing.
''This is the first time I've told anybody this, and I'll tell you guys in this room, he was the first person to see the movie.
''The first time I saw the cut, he came with me. I've told the story about how I heard him crying, and I was like, 'What's going on?' But when we walked out of there, he was like, 'You're going to win an Oscar.' And I was like, 'Come oooonnn.' And I swear to God, that's what he said to me. And, I couldn't believe he said that. But anyway, that's how much he supported me.''
During her acceptance speech, Julianne thanked Bart and their children, Caleb, 17, and Liv, 12.
She said: ''For my husband Bart, and our children thank you for my life thank you for giving me a home.''
And she also joked about the age difference between herself and her 45-year-old husband.
She said: ''I read an article that said that winning an Oscar could lead to living five years longer. If that's true, I'd really like to thank the Academy because my husband is younger than me.''
