Beyonce kicked of the UK leg of her Formation world tour on Tuesday night (July 28) at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. Most fans were delighted that the US singer slayed the stage despite the wet British weather, but others felt a little left out in the cold, as the gig started 45 minutes later than expected.

On twitter one fan wrote: “You should never be late to a concert. It is your job. Be on time. Especially when it is raining and freezing cold. Not impressed #beyonce.” While another added: “Beyonce was late but still finished on time. Didn't even sing single ladies.”

But other fans simply didn't care because after all, she is Beyonce. “When Beyonce comes on stage 45 mins late but it's k cos she's the f****** queen,” a non-bothered fan tweeted. The singer has only allowed three official images to be released from the show, giving little idea of what fans can expect.

Taking the stage she told the crowd: “If y’all came to slay tonight, say ‘I slay’. If you slay tonight and every day say, ‘I slay’.” Later she added: "Most of you met me 19 years ago when I was in Destiny's Child. Thank you for allowing me to evolve and grow.”

The Express gave the concert a five-star review, writing: “Slick, powerful and and utterly compelling, Beyoncé commands the stage like no other.” The Telegraph added: “When it comes to sheer innovation, showmanship and creativity in contemporary pop, Beyoncé has everyone else beaten.”
