Courtney Love reportedly owes her psychiatrist over $48,000.

The Hole rocker is the subject of a lawsuit from Dr. Edward Ratush, an ''addiction psychiatrist'' who deals with ''opiate dependence and treatment-resistant depression, who filed papers in Manhattan Supreme Court last week in which he claims she has an outstanding bill for $48,250 for their sessions, the New York Post newspaper reports.

It is not clear how many sessions the bill covers, or how long it has been outstanding.

The therapist is a fan of alternative therapies, with his LinkedIn profile stating he offers trans-cranial magnetic stimulation -- magnetic fields that stimulate nerve cells in the brain -- and has an interest in ''spiritual interventions'' for addicts, as well as looking forward to being a part of research which uses ''psychedelic drugs'' to treat addiction.

Courtney - who has 22-year-old daughter Frances Bean with her late husband Kurt Cobain - recently stated she is free of ''all'' drugs and attributed her Buddhist faith for helping her stay sober.

She said: ''All of it, just all of it. There are no more drugs.''What really saved me was, obviously going to meetings and stuff like that, but I'm a Buddhist. I chant and I'm really serious about it. I chant twice a day.''

''I'm Nichiren Buddhist so it's Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. So I sit there in the morning, 'Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo,' and it changed my life. Absolutely. It turned everything around.''
