David Beckham "didn't expect" the Spice Girls to reunite at wife Victoria's 50th birthday party.
The couple celebrated the fashion designer's birthday at Oswald's in Mayfair, London, last month and the retired soccer star shared a video of the group - Victoria, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C - singing and dancing along to their hit 'Stop', which was followed weeks later by their 19-year-old son Cruz sharing another clip of the quintet singing along to 'Mama', which the teenager played on guitar.
However, David has now revealed the 'Mama' moment was originally planned ot be a family tribute with him and his children, Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, and 12-year-old Harper.
Speaking on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', he said: “It’s actually been like 12 years since they did the Olympics in the UK, but over 15 years since they were actually on the stage together.
“So obviously having them all that night — and I didn’t expect them to all get up on stage — but I had a whole video planned where me and my kids recreated the ‘Mama’ video.
" So my son, who plays the guitar and sings, had a song and he sang ‘Mama’ and then all of a sudden all the girls got up."
David admitted the moment was very special to him because he's always been such a big fan of the 'Wannabe' group.
He added: "I’m their biggest fan. I tend to not tell my wife that because I tend to tell her that I fancied her, but she was a Spice Girl! I love that about her. So I was a fan.”
Insiders previously said having all her former bandmates at the party "meant the world" to Victoria, whose green dress from her own label was accessorised with crutches as she is still not recovered from a recent ankle injury.
A source told MailOnline: "It meant the world to Victoria that they were all there.
"They were a huge part of her life and they shared so much together.
"They were special days and so of course to have them there to mark her 50th was just wonderful for her. It made everything so perfect."
