Actor Donnie Wahlberg hopes his Blue Bloods co-star Jennifer Esposito can resolve her feud with U.S. Tv bosses soon so she can return to the crime drama.

The Latina beauty, who played series regular Jackie Curatola, was suspended from the series after asking executives at Tv network CBS to cut back her shooting schedule after she collapsed on set.

Esposito, who suffers from autoimmune disorder Celiac Disease, called on her doctor to write to producers explaining why she needed a break, but they allegedly refused to back down, and her character was written out of the show last month (Oct12).

However, Blue Bloods producers have yet to release the actress from her contract so she can take on other work and Esposito recently blasted bosses for trying to illegally dismiss her from the programme.

She told FOX News Channel's Arthel Neville, "Last week I was told I was on suspension, which meant I am still in contract, not being paid. It's completely illegal, but they also knew that I didn't have the money or the means to sue them... What happened was ugliness. It makes me sick."

Her Blue Bloods co-star and onscreen cop partner Wahlberg has now broken his silence over the furore, and he, for one, is keen to have Esposito back.

He tells the Associated Press, "She’s a friend and I hope she’s doing good. I love working with her, so we’ll see what happens."
