Eliza Dushku, the American actress best known for playing 'Faith' in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', has landed the lead role in a forthcoming online 'Torchwood' series. Eliza Dushku will star in 'Torchwood: Web of Lies' a new animated series based on the original hit show, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Eliza will voice the show's lead character, with 'Torchwood' stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles also providing voices. The 10 three-minute online clips have been penned by 'Buffy' writer Jane Espenson and Ryan Scott. 'Web of Lies', which is being developed by Bbc Worldwide Productions, is expected to launch before the new series of Torchwood premieres on 8th July 2011. In recent years, Dushku has guest-starred in the CBS comedy 'The Big Bang Theory', and also provided her voice for the animated movie 'Noah's Ark: New Beginning'. She is rumoured to be appearing in 'Ghostbusters Iii' but the future of the project is likely to depend on the availability of Bill Murray, who has already aired his reservations at making a third movie. The film's script is being written by original stars Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.
Eliza Dushku began dating the Los Angeles Lakers star Rick Fox back in October 2009. The couple confirmed they were living together in August of last year.
