Dave Grohl's broken leg means the Foos have also cancelled their two Wembley appearances and Murrayfield Stadium gig.
It’s the news that many Glastonbury goers have been dreading: Foo Fighters have indeed cancelled their Friday night headline appearance at the festival later this month, in addition to their two massive Wembley gigs this weekend and Murrayfield Stadium gig, because of Dave Grohl’s leg break earlier in June.
A statement from the band on Tuesday afternoon read: “Due to injuries sustained in Dave Grohl's fall from the stage during Foo Fighters' June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, doctors have required the cancellation of the remainder of the band's dates in the UK and Europe. After undergoing surgery Monday, Dave's full recuperation time is still to be determined.”

During the second song of the Foos’ set at the weekend, Grohl sustained at least one fracture in his leg after he missed a ramp and fell into a gap between the stage and the audience.

While Grohl was brave enough to battle through the pain and return from hospital to finish the gig in question while sitting in a chair, it seems that his recovery time is too long for these major events. Before today, the Foos had already cancelled their shows on June 14th headline set at Pinkpop Festival and June 16th in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Further announcements on ticket refunds and more information concerning the two Wembley gigs will be made on Friday (June 19th).
So, who’s your money on to replace them? Florence + The Machine, who recently enjoyed a simultaneous transatlantic Number 1 album with How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, were scheduled to be the sub-headliner on the Friday night. Given the almost complete lack of female headliners at UK festivals this summer (except for Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac), many are tipping the organisers to give them a battlefield promotion.
Knowing Glastonbury, they’ll probably go with Muse, Radiohead or Blur.
