Strangest Things

Freeform Five release ‘Strangest Things’ on Ultimate Dilemma Records. This album has a lot of different shades to it, from the upbeat electro dance funk thing that really shows their individuality as a band or to more melodic songs that could fit into the charts quite well. I suppose similarities could be that of the Scissor Sisters however they have a more upbeat funk element to them that makes them a bit more industrial and less glossy.

Freeform Five - Strangest Things - Album Review

All the tracks have a progressive electro feel to them however they really range in difference. You’ve got a tracks like ‘Electromagnetic’ and Strangest Things’ that are highly charged industrial dance songs that are guaranteed to get you moving. Then there’s more funk inspired electro tracks that are groovier and the bass is quite predominate. Or there’s songs like ‘Easy’ and ‘Slow’ that are very melodic, slow and provide a space for introspective thought rather than dance floor vibes.

It seems to me that ‘Strangest Thing’s is a good album. They have rehashed the 80’s electro Glam thing with a dose of P-Funk and have definitely added a techno British punk vibe there as well. This all makes for quite an original listening experience that is good for the dance floor and for those looking for something different. They are a tight band with two male and one female singers to give everyone something. The singers compliment each other providing a soulful or Glam sound and the lyrics are quite uplifting. Freeform Five have caught the spirit of the times and their contribution is something to be respected.
