Giada De Laurentiis, the television personality and celebrity chef, has responded to speculation romantically linking her with the American musician John Mayer, reports The Examiner. It had been reported that 40-year-old De Laurentiis was recently spotted with the singer in New York, however, both individuals have denied the rumours.
In a statement made through her representative, De Laurentiis rejected the speculation, but did admit to meeting Mayer, she said, "I've met him and he's a great guy, but I just like his music. That's all". However, Mayer was more forthright in denying the story, calling it, 'absolutely ridiculous'. De Laurentiis is the granddaughter of the legendary film producer Dino De Laurentiis, who died this week aged 91. The movie mogul was responsible for producing such films as the ACADEMY AWARD winning 'La Strada', and more recently 'Hannibal' starring Anthony Hopkins. The 40-year-old is perhaps best known as the host of popular television program 'Giada at Home' however she is also a regular contributor to NBC's 'Today' show.
Mayer has been romantically linked with a number of high-profile names, most notably Taylor Swift, after it was reported that her song 'Dear John' was written about a failed relationship with the 33-year-old.
