This week we lost the talented Harold Ramis, which made us rather sad indeed. Then we heard about these celebrity break-ups and...pass us the tissues.
So Long Harold Ramis: This week, the world lost the comedy talent known as Harold Ramis: Ghostbusters actor and the man behind many a funny comedy film. Ramis died after complications associated with autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels. Ramis' fellow industry figures and his league of fans across the globe have clamoured to pay tribute to the legendary filmmaker, with even Barack Obama dropping a Caddyshack joke to honour the star. Stacks of twinkies have been left outside the Ghostbusters fire station in Tribeca, as an ode the wonderful Ramis and his cinematic legacy. RIP Harold Ramis: 1944 - 2014.
Katy Perry Dominates The News: Katy Perry has single-handedly made sure the pap lens of the world hasn't strayed from her this week. From announcing her Prismatic European tour then making out with Miley Cyrus to delivering a baby and even angering the world's Muslim population with her "blasphemous" new music video, the pop star has kept herself busy. However, Perry's relationship with singer-songwriter John Mayer has made headlines after it was strongly rumoured that the pair had broken up.
Paula Patton & Robin Thicke Call It Quits: Why has this break-up news disappointed us so much? Actress Paula Patton and R&B superstar Robin Thicke have called time on their relationship after nearly nine years of marriage. The pair have a young son together and have been dating since they were 16 year-old high school sweethearts. Patton reportedly couldn't stand Thicke's antics with other women, particularly with Miley Cyrus at last year's MTV VMAs despite laughing it off at the time. Having constantly vowed his love for Paula, Robin is apparently now trying to win her back.
Miley's Bangerz Tour Parties On: After scores of parents reportedly complained about the raunchy soft-core porn of Miley Cyrus' stage shows, the rebellious pop star has shown no signs of slowing down, making out with Katy Perry during 'Adore You', breaking down whilsts singing 'Wrecking Ball' and duetting with The Flaming Lips for an actually-pretty-good cover of 'Yoshimi.'
Lisa Kudrow Loses $1.6 Million Lawsuit: Friends star Lisa Kudrow has lost a lawsuit brought against her by her former manager, Scott Howard. Howard alleged that the actress owed him owed him residuals from her days starring in the sitcom after the pair made a verbal agreement. A jury ruled 10 -2 against Kudrow in the case that has been going for six years. The Scandal star is being sued for $1.6 million but Kudrow's attorney announced that they would appeal the decision.
Kim Kardashian Sells Out For A Billionaire: Following in the footsteps of Paris Hilton and Dita Von Teese, Kim Kardashian made a paid appearance as a guest of Austrian businessman Richard Lugner, 81. A very uneasy looking TV star appeared with her mother Kris Jenner in a press conference throughout the day and was treated like a princess. However, Kim ended up storming out of the fancy event after a man with a blacked-up face approached her and asked her to dance. For once, we're on Kim's side: too awkward. On a more positive note, her fiancé Kanye West loves her to bits, has called her the new Marilyn Monroe and has made her a key character in a movie about his life.
Video Of The Week - 'Veronica Mars' Trailer: We've had the trailer for a month or so now but we're feeling more excited than ever for the release of the Veronica Mars movie, ten years after the first time Kristen Bell's teen super-sleuth hit our TV screen. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, director Rob Thomas got to work assembling much of the original cast and making a movie. We find Veronica as a high-flying lawyer trying to put her investigating days behind her; that is, until she attends a high school reunion and is called on to help prove her ex-boyfriend's innocence in a murder.
