Hank Williams' granddaughter Holly Williams, a musician in her own right, makes an intimate acoustic performance of her new track 'Drinkin', taken from her third album 'The Highway', following a festival interview.
She performs the track with her own guitar plus a session guitarist and backing vocalist and appears to get completely absorbed in the music as she strums away effortlessly. The song has a folksy, sing-a-long vibe to it, with a beautifully catchy melody and resonant lyrics. Like all her previous work, it has the most raw country intensity about it, no doubt passed on from her famous grandfather and her musician father Hank Williams, Jr.
Holly released 'The Highway' earlier this year through Georgiana Records, her own indie label, and it has easily surpassed her previous records, 'The Ones We Never Knew' and 'Here with Me', in popularity having topped the US Top Heatseekers chart and scored highly in the Country, Indie and Folk sections - she has even managed to land a place in the Billboard 200. Holly has a handful of US Autumn gig dates which sees her play at Austin City Limits festival on two days in October, and several other unique venues across the country.
