Frozen is heading to Broadway, with a full stage musical based on the Disney animation. According to the New York Times, Disney will bring the adaptation to the Broadway stage in the spring of 2018, through its New York-based theatrical division.

It will be the ninth musical and 10th show over all that Disney has brought to Broadway, with previous productions including The Lion King, Tarzan and The Little Mermaid. The NYT reports that the developmental production will begin outside New York in the summer of 2017, before moving Broadway the following spring.

The production will feature the same writers as the film, with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and book by Jennifer Lee, who wrote and co-directed the film. Directing will be Alex Timbers, who previously directed Disney’s Peter and the Starcatcher as well as Rocky on Broadway.

Tony award winner Peter Darling, who worked on Billy Elliot and Matilda the Musical will serve as choreographer and costumes will be designed by Bob Crowley, who has won seven Tony Awards for his work, including on Disney shows Aida and Mary Poppins.

Frozen is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen and tells the story of Princess Elsa, who has a hard time managing her icy powers and her loving sister Ana. The film was released in 2013 and became a huge box office success, grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
