Screenwriter Dan Gilroy ('Real Steal', 'The Bourne Legacy') makes his directorial debut with 'Nightcrawler'. Principle photography began for the film on 6th October 2013, after the production received 2.3 million USD from the California Film Tax Credit program. The movie premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on 5th September 2014. The film distribution was handled by Open Road Films, with the movie opening in cinemas over the course of October and November 2014, receiving massive critical acclaim.
