Jim Carrey has met with the sister and mother of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, who reportedly committed suicide earlier this week.
Jim Carrey has met with the family of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, who reportedly committed suicide on Monday (28.09.15).
The 53-year-old actor welcomed her mother Brigid and sister Lisa to his Brentwood home on Thursday (01.10.15), after they flew to Los Angeles to make arrangements to bring Cathriona's body home to her native Ireland.
A source told PEOPLE: ''Jim has been at his Brentwood home for the past few days and Cathriona's sister visited him last night for an hour.''
Speaking about the sad trip to LA, another source added: '' ''It's a terrible journey for her mother to have to make. Everybody is hoping that her body can be returned home quickly now.''
Jim paid an emotional tribute to the 30-year-old Irish make-up artist after she was found dead at her home in Sherman Oaks.
In a statement, the 'Kick-Ass 2' star said: ''I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.
''She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.''
Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said: ''Ms White was found at 8.40pm local time on Monday, September 28, at her home in Sherman Oaks.
''The final cause of death has not been confirmed, pending an autopsy.''
The on-again, off-again couple first started dating in 2012 after meeting on a film set, but split a few months later.
They rekindled their romance last May, but recently ended it for the second time.
Jim last mentioned Cathriona, who moved to Los Angeles from her native Co. Tipperary in 2009, on his Twitter profile on September 16, when he credited her for taking a photograph of him standing in Grand Central station in New York City.
