Joe Jackson is seeking to sue media outlet bosses who published a photo of his son Michael Jackson fighting for his life.
The King of Pop's father has filed legal documents requesting a court to acknowledge his right to take action against editors who printed the photo, according to TMZ.com.
The family patriarch did not specify which photo he is upset over but snaps of the singer being taken out of his home and into an ambulance were widely circulated after his tragic passing in June (09).
Michael was pronounced dead on arrival at Los Angeles' UCLA Medical Center.
Joe Jackson's lawyer Brian Oxman alleges the published photos invaded the family's privacy and has asked a judge to allow him access to medical records to begin filing the case.
The move comes after Joe filed a claim for a monthly allowance from his late son's estate in November (09), claiming he relied on the Thriller legend's help to survive as he had little income of his own.
A hearing for that matter is due to take place in May (10).
