In The Blood Trailer

Ava is skilled at fighting and has left behind a rather shady past to set up a life with her beloved husband. Together, the pair are unstoppable adventure-lovers, always up for the next adrenaline rush. However, one of their escapades goes deadly wrong when they vacate to a glorious Caribbean island and decide to zoom over a forest on a zipwire. Ava's husband plummets towards the ground after his support snaps and Ava is left desperately searching for him. When no body is found around where he landed and no one of his resemblance has been rushed to the nearby hospital or, indeed, the police station, Ava starts to believe he's been kidnapped in a dastardly ploy to get at both of them. But it's a case of 'hell hath no fury.' for Ava, who doesn't care who dies as long as she gets her husband back.

Top Gun Trailer

Maverick is a reckless but extremely skilled fighter pilot whose father died after his plane was shot down in the Vietnam War. Because of his talent, he is asked to attend the Top Gun school with co-pilot Goose. It is there he competes to be the top student on the program while simultaneously attempting to woo his chief instructor Charlie Blackwood who, although appearing critical at first, secretly admires his flying methods. His journey to become the greatest pilot in the world is tarnished with tragedy and the frustration that rumours of his father dying due to his own errors could be true.

This classic romantic drama flick will soon be available to own on Blu-Ray from February 19th 2013. The movie was based on the California magazine article 'Top Guns' by Ehud Yonay and directed by Tony Scott ('Beverly Hills Cop II', 'Enemy of the State', 'Domino') in 1986 with writing credits to Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr. ('Dick Tracy', 'Anaconda'). It won an Oscar and a Golden Globe on its release as well as a Brit award for Best Soundtrack. 'Top Gun' will appear in 3D cinemas for six days only between February 8th and 13th 2013.

Top Gun Review

Very Good
Anyone fondly remembering Top Gun as a prototypical action-packed Jerry Bruckheimer 'nad-fest probably hasn't seen it in awhile. Newly released as a mega-deluxe DVD, it's time to remember what Top Gun really is: From "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" to "Take My Breath Away," it's mushy love story first, fighter-pilots-in-training movie second.

Ironically, the early 1990s would bring to light the fact that carousing was what naval pilots seemed to do best: The 1986 Tailhook scandal occured during the same year Top Gun was released.

Rock Star Review

Good
In his short career, Mark Wahlberg has been most effective when playing characters full of naïve sincerity. In Boogie Nights, The Yards, and even Three Kings, his talent is in making the audience believe he's a good guy with a lot of heart, just trying his best. That honest hopefulness works well for him in Rock Star, a generally entertaining tale of an 80s heavy metal superfan who suddenly becomes his favorite band's lead singer. The problem with the film lies in director Stephen Herek's inability to take advantage of the strengths that Wahlberg displays.

The story is loosely based on metal icons Judas Priest, who, in 1997, replaced singer Rob Halford with an actual fan (so tell me, how would one actually know if Judas Priest replaced a band member?) Wahlberg, as Steel Dragon fan Chris Cole, is just brimming with dedication -- he works hard as a copy machine repairman, busts his ass in his Steel Dragon cover band, tells his parents he loves them, and has a long relationship with his girlfriend/best friend/manager (Jennifer Aniston, still underrated by Hollywood). After being booted from his band for taking things too seriously, Chris gets a call from the real Steel Dragon, who are interested in his pipes. Just like that, he's the new guy out front.

Blue Crush Review

OK
At 104 minutes, Blue Crush puts the "endless" in the popular surf phrase "endless summer." It certainly feels longer than any movie derived from a magazine article deserves to be (in this case, it's author Susan Orlean's 1998 Women's Outdoor magazine piece "Surf Girls of Maui"). But the bloated undertaking especially disappoints because Crush positively flies out of the gate and entertains for a good 30 minutes before a huge wipeout.

Relative newcomer Kate Bosworth plays Anne Marie, unofficial leader of a trio of surfer chicks and the only one who's tasted fame. Three years prior, she aced a teen championship and flirted with the pro circuit, but a head-on collision with the coral reef resulted in a near-death drowning incident that Anne Marie just can't shake. Her reluctance to get back on the board threatens her final shot at the Pipeline Championship, and the sponsorships and recognition that come with the pro surfing tour.
