Swift and Minaj got into it on social media on Tuesday (21Jul15) after the Anaconda hitmaker appeared to take aim at the pop star after Swift's Bad Blood promo landed a Video of the Year nomination and Anaconda didn't.

Minaj suggested her video was snubbed for the top prize because it didn't feature "women with very slim bodies", prompting Swift to respond, "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..."

The feud rumbled on throughout Tuesday with Swift eventually trying to make peace by urging Minaj to join her onstage at the awards show next month (Aug15) if she wins.

A day later (22Jul15), Perry offered her take on the social media spat, tweeting, "Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably (sic) capitalizes on the take down of a woman..."

Many pop pundits believe Swift's song Bad Blood is about her feud with Perry, who she previously accused of being unfriendly at an awards show and "sabotaging" a business deal.

Perry has her own issues with the Video Music Awards nominations it seems - she's disappointed Rihanna's B**ch Better Have My Money promo didn't get a best video mention: "The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1."

Meanwhile, Minaj returned to social media on Wednesday (22Jul15) to further address her spat with Swift, posting a clip of a Marie Claire article on the issue, thanking the outlet and some others who, she said, "used their voice to help me make a very obvious point," referring to her stance on misrepresentation in the media.

Clarifying her own statements, she added, "Nothing to do with any of the women (nominated), but everything to do with a system that doesn't credit black women for their contributions to pop culture as freely/quickly as they reward others. We are huge trendsetters, not second class citizens that get thrown crumbs.

"This isn't anger. This is #information. It's all love to MTV. Kisses to my fans and thank you for my 3 nominations."
