Perry is hosting a party in conjunction with Spotify and even rival Taylor Swift made the guestlist.
It’s one of the most famous examples of 'bad blood' in showbusiness, but Katy Perry and Taylor Swift may have the opportunity to end their feud at a pre-Grammy’s party tonight (February 13th). Perry and Swift have been rumoured to be at war with each other since 2014 and their feud only escalated after the release of Swift’s single ‘Bad Blood’, which many thought was aimed at Perry.
Katy Perry is hosting a pre-Grammys party and Taylor Swift is on the guestlist.
But in an interview with the New York Times Perry, who will not be attending this year’s Grammys, revealed she’ll be hosting an artists only party on Saturday evening, two days before the awards. Named ‘An Evening to Celebrate the Creators’, the party is in association with Spotify and even those who have shunned the streaming service (Adele and Swift) are invited.
“Artists are always looking for a way to connect with each other, but we don’t get that authentic connection because we’re either being pulled or pushed,” Perry said. Excluded from the party will be the usual people who follow big names around, such as publicists, managers, reporters.

To score an invite Perry said: “You have to be a creator — it’s artists, producers and songwriters. And it’s a mixture of new and familiar artists, a combination of the past two years’ Grammy nominees and also [acts] from the Spotify Discover playlist.”
“It’s Kacey Musgraves, Karen O, Miguel, Tove Lo, Shirley Manson, Max Martin. Then up-and-coming songwriters like Blood Pop and Bonnie McKee all under the same roof as Diane Warren. In some ways, I’m trying to start the Met Ball of music.”

It will be interesting to see if Swift, who received seven Grammy nominations this year, will turn up to the special party. Swift not only has tension with Perry, but she famously rallied against Spotify during the release of album 1989, which she withheld from the service.
But according to Perry wether or not Swift turns up will be all down to the age old problem of ‘scheduling conflicts’. “It’s just up to their schedules,” Perry added, when asked if either Swift or Adele could be counted on to make an appearance.
