Kevin Spacey is marking his Hollywood comeback with a raunchy turn as a hitman.
The ‘American Beauty’ actor, 64, who was cleared in July 2023 of accusations he sexually assaulted four men, has landed the role of the killer in thriller ‘Peter Five Eight’, with a trailer for the movie showing his character getting rid of a corpse, holding a terrified woman at knifepoint and calling himself a “fallen soul”.
The preview also sees Kevin’s assassin spending the night with a woman called Brenda, played by 64-year-old Rebecca De Mornay, and shooting a man in broad daylight.
A tagline for the film, written and directed by Michael Zaiko Hall, says: “In this town, nothing is what it seems.”
Kevin was cleared of alleged sexual assaults on 26 July last year when a jury at Southwark Crown Court, London, returned not guilty verdicts on all counts.
On the steps of the court after the verdicts were delivered, ‘The Usual Suspects’ actor said: “I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today.
“But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts, carefully, before they reached their decision.
“I am humbled by the outcome today.”
Kevin was seen placing his hand on his chest when the not guilty verdicts were delivered and mouthed “Thank you”.
It was announced in January he will be appearing at the three-day horror convention the ‘Mad Monster Party 2024’, which runs from February 16 to 18 in North Carolina, with a promotional photograph showing Kevin with blood running down his hand.
