Cancer's a terrible thing, and even the stars aren't immune.
As if Lil Boosie didn't have enough to deal with having just been released from prison, the rapper has now revealed that he's been diagnosed with kidney cancer as he pleads with fans to pray for him as he attempts to overcome his latest battle.
Pray for Boosie as he embarks on a scary journey
It's not the first time Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch and now professionally known as Boosie Badazz) has had health issues either; the Louisiana lyricist revealed in 2006 that he had diabetes, and his health can't have been helped by the subsequent five years he spent behind bars. Let's just hope that this time he doesn't have a death sentence.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for these stars:
Jackie Collins - The romance novelist passed away at 77 in September after finally succumbing to breast cancer. Despite living with the illness for more than six years previously, she only chose to tell her sister about it two weeks before her death.
Author Jackie Collins will be sorely missed
Wes Craven - 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and 'Scream' director Craven died of brain cancer at 76 in August, though it's unclear when exactly he was diagnosed. The last episode of the 'Scream' series was dedicated to his memory.
Another horror star now lives only in his legacy
Percy Sledge - This soul legend, incidentally from the same town as Lil Boosie, Baton Rouge, lost his battle with liver cancer at the age of 73 in April. He had been suffereing with the illness for some time and was forced to pull out of a tour in 2014.
Percy Sledge might be gone, but that smile lives on
Joey Feek - One half of husband and wife country duo Joey + Rory is currently coming to terms with terminal cervical cancer. It's a tragedy, given that she is just 40-years-old and will leave behind both Rory and their almost-2-year-old daughter, but she's staying positive and hopes to be around for one last Christmas.
Joey Feek has remained composed throughout her terminal cancer care
On a happier note, there's good news for these celebrities:
John Hurt - In June, the 'Harry Potter' actor revealed a diagnosis for pancreatic cancer. Thankfully, with it being in the early stages, he underwent treatment and was given the all clear by October. Wizardry indeed!

Rita Wilson - Tom Hanks' wife is expected to make a full recovery from breast cancer after a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in April. The surgery apparently wen well, because the Broadway actress returned to 'Fish in the Dark' after just one month.
Rita Wilson is already back at work after surgery
Phil Lesh - The Grateful Dead guitarist may also make a full recovery following treatment for bladder cancer which he announced in October. He's staying positive and insists that his prognosis is very good.

Morrissey - The opinionated musician has still got cancer following his diagnosis in August 2014. He's currently undergoing treatment for Barrett's oesophageal cancer but has remained remarkably blase about the situation in public. In August this year, however, he revealed that the disease was under control.

More: Shannen Doherty releases breast cancer statement
Lastly, our fingers remained crossed for 'Charmed' star Shannen Doherty who disclosed her diagnosis of breast cancer to the public in August. She revealed that she is staying healthy and positive as she undergoes treatment.
Good luck with the treatment, Shannen Doherty!
