Since the demise of Brangelina this week, speculation has been rampant that Pitt had an affair with 'Allied' co-star Marion Cotillard - which she has strongly denied.
Marion Cotillard has denied rampant speculation that it is she who is responsible for the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, saying that rumours she had an affair with the actor are false.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday evening (September 21st), the French actress attempted to put those reports to bed in what she wrote was her “first and only reaction” to the sensational news that swept the media world on Tuesday night.
At the same time, the 40 year old revealed that she and her husband, Guillaume Canet, were expecting their second baby together.
It has been rumoured that Brad Pitt had an affair with Marion Cotillard
Cotillard’s private life had been exposed to the harsh glare of the media spotlight when it was revealed the previous day that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt, ending their two-year marriage and 12-year relationship, also demanding physical custody of their six children.
Pitt and Cotillard filmed the romantic thriller movie Allied together earlier this year, and speculation about an affair seems to have been centred around this.

In the full caption underneath the Instagram picture – written in French as well as English – Cotillard wrote:
“This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiralling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up.
“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn't distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery.
“Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment. With all my love, Marion.”
