Marion Cotillard, the French actress and star of 'Inception', has welcomed her first child with actor-director beau Guillaume Canet, reports People Magazine. Marion Cotillard gave birth to her son in Paris on Thursday evening (19th May 2011) and named the child 'Marcel'.
A source close to the couple confirmed the birth, saying, "Mother and baby are fine", adding that the actress is "very happy". 35-year-old Cotillard starred with Canet in the 2003 movie 'Love Me If You Dare' and the pair began dating in 2007. The actress recently signed on to play 'Wayne Enterprises' board member 'Miranda Tate' in Christopher Nolan's forthcoming Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises'. The casting sees Cotillard reunite with her 'Inception' co-stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy. According to sources, the French actress will begin shooting her parts at London's Elstree Studios in mid-June, before moving to locations in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. Filming on the movie, which sees Christian Bale reprise his role as the caped crusader, is expected to be completed in November with a release date tentatively scheduled for July 2012.
Marion Cotillard recently completed filming Steven Soderbergh's new sci-fi movie 'Contagion', about an international team of doctors who attempt to deal with the outbreak of a deadly disease. The movie also stars Matt Damon and Kate Winslet and is scheduled to hit cinemas on 21st October 2011.
