Micachu - Golden Phone Single Review

Review of Michachu and the Shapes single Golden Phone.

Released on Rough Trade records 'Golden Phone' is the latest single from Mica Levi aka Micachu.

With it's Lo-fi beats and fills, non-conformist piano and downplayed accented vocals of Levi the track has a truly independent feel to it, typical of Rough Trade. The song did not offend me, but neither did it stir me to go and hunt for the latest gossip on Micachu.

'Golden Phone' is not like Marmite, its more like Jam. you see it in the fridge every time you open it; but it never really inspires you to do anything with it.
