The Best Of Me - Official UK Trailer

Dawson and Amanda are living the life of the typical movie love story - they spend their time enjoying long summer days and nights together, until events conspire to break them apart. Dawson is arrested and goes to jail, leaving Amanda to live out her life without him. After being called to the funeral of an old friend, the couple meet each other for the first time in twenty one years. The couple begin to ponder the idea of letting go and moving on from your first true love, as they are dragged together into a relationship which also pits them against the same forces that drove them apart in the first place. The romantic drama spans decades, showing that some loves can truly last a lifetime.

The Best Of Me Trailer

Dawson Cole is a high school student who, unlike his peers, prefers his own company rather than anybody else's. He doesn't have girlfriends, and he has very few friends altogether, but when he meets the very pretty Amanda Collier, he finds himself longing to be around her. The pair embark on a passionate, uninhibited romance, but when Amanda's wealthy father finds out about the sort of boy she's been fraternising with, he's determined to end it. Wanting what's best for Amanda despite his breaking heart, Dawson leaves town only to meet his teenage sweetheart again 20 years later. The pair find themselves falling in love all over again, only they are much older now and life is much more complicated. Has their childhood passion withstood the test of time? Or will they have to part ways for good?

Gambit Premier: Cameron Diaz And Colin Firth Talk Nudity And New Skills.

Cameron Diaz Colin Firth Alan Rickman Michael Hoffman Coen Brothers

Eccentric British/American comedy 'Gambit' premiered in London last night at the Empire in Leicester square. It stars Cameron Diaz, Colin Firth and Alan Rickman, and was directed by Michael Hoffman, with a script written by the Coen Brothers. With a line-up like that you can't really go wrong!

The remake of the 1966 film of the same name follows an art curator (Firth) who is sick of his boss (Rickman) and decides to take sweet revenge, in a variety of hilarious ways, aided by cowgirl PJ Puznowski (Diaz). Despite being written by Americans and directed by another American, it's a very British comedy.

On the red carpet Firth, Diaz and Hoffman spoke to ITN and the Daily Mail, and spoke about the trials and tribulations of working on the film. Cameron and Firth spoke to ITN about the nudity in the film, that has already been widely talked about. Cameron said "nothing's gratuitous, it's all for a purpose." Which was followed by a self-defacing quip from Firth who said: "My legs are there for gratuitous comedy, and they've been shamelessly exploited." Firth only really loses his trousers in the film, but Alan Rickman's character Lord Lionel Shabandar spends some of it in his birthday suit. The making of the film wasn't all levels of nudity, Cameron also got to try her hand at real life cow-girling, in an interview with the Daily Mail she said "I got to do a little lassoing, a little roping on the cattle." Adding, "It was a lot of fun."

The Last Station Review

Good
A double love story based on real events from the life of Leo Tolstoy, this period film combines comedy and emotion in a way that's always entertaining, even if it sometimes feels camp and contrived.

Valentin (McAvoy) is a young Tolstoyan in 1910 assigned by the movement's leader Chertkov (Giamatti) to keep an eye on Leo Tolstoy (Plummer) and his sceptical wife Sofya (Mirren). But what Valentin finds is a lively, loving marriage that's strong enough to include opposing views. This isn't good enough for Chertkov, who moves to get Leo to change his will to leave everything to the movement. Which of course enrages Sofya. Meanwhile, Valentin is experiencing his first flush of love with a Tolstoyan commune resident (Condon).
