Rapper Missy Elliott is contemplating hanging up the microphone for good after one final album, according to her close pal Da Brat.
The Get Ur Freak On hitmaker, real name Melissa Elliott, was originally set to drop her seventh studio album, Block Party, in 2007, but the project was postponed and is now expected to be released later this year (11).
And fellow hip-hop star Da Brat reveals the record could be Elliot's last - so they are determined to record a track like their hit 1997 single with Lil' Kim, Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix), to mark the occasion.
Da Brat tells Sister 2 Sister magazine, "I was hoping for a Ladies Night reunion. I spoke to Missy and she (is) down for it. She wants to do a song because she said this could possibly be her last album. So she reached out and I would love to. I love her. She's so genius (sic)."
Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix) also featured New York DJ/rapper Angie Martinez and late TLC star Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes.
Elliott's last album, Respect M.E., was released in 2006.
