'N Sync may be reuniting at the MTV Music Awards on Sunday (25th August). If reports are correct, this will be the first time the band have appeared together, and performed, on television in a decade.

It was confirmed, by the New York Post, that 'N Sync members Jc Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick will be appearing on stage alongside Justin Timberlake. The group last performed in 2004 at a charity event, but their last televised performance was at the 2003 Grammy Awards.

A source, speaking to US Weekly, has confirmed the group will united for a performance at the awards ceremony, is it possible if this goes further? MTV producers are certainly hopeful, with sources speaking to the entertainment website stating they are "trying to make it happen" and that a reunion is "coming together."

The band announced their hiatus in 2002. If the reunion does take place, things will most definitely have changed for the group. Timberlake has since had a successful solo career with such songs as 'SexyBack', 'Suit & Tie' and 'Rock Your Body'. It is rumoured his relationship with his fellow band members soured following the band's split. At Timberlake's wedding to Jessica Biel in October last year, only two of the four band members were invited. Bass and Fatone did not make the guest list. This was, according to sources speaking to US Weekly, because "Justin thought a reunion would overshadow the wedding. And Justin hates Lance now." Hopefully the two singers will be able to put their differences aside, if only for one night.

The MTV Music Awards will be held on Sunday 25th August, at the Brooklyn Barclay's Centre. The ceremony will broadcast live on MTV.
