Minaj caused a stir when accepting her BET Best Female Hip Hop award in June, while addressing the audience she recalled a recent near-death experience, and explained not wanting to alert the emergency services because she thought "'Well if I call the ambulance, it's going to be on TMZ.'"

"The business kills so many people and we don't even realize it," the 'Anaconda' rapper told The Fader magazine's Fall Fashion Issue, in reference to her BET comments. "I can only imagine how many people in the business have died because they may not have wanted to...be embarrassed publicly. We care so much about what the world thinks that we don't live, really."

The details around Minaj's death scare are still unknown and when the interviewer asked her to shed some light on the event, she replied, "I don't want to talk about it."

Nevertheless, Minaj's rap style and lyrical prowess are among the best in the music business today, including her fellow male artists, which is why her legions of fans cannot wait for the release of her third studio album, 'The Pink Print.'
