Noel Gallagher thinks he is "punching above [his] weight" with his new girlfriend.
The 56-year-old singer - who is best known as part of rock group Oasis with his estranged brother Liam - was first pictured with Sally in March when he took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London and has now spoken out about his new relationship for the first time.
Speaking on the Matt Morgan podcast, he said: "She’s a good woman. She doesn’t show up often, but it was nice to see her [at the Royal Albert Hall].
“She says she sees a steely look in my eyes. She’s looked into my eyes countless times down the years. I’ve punched above my weight several times in my life, and I think if you can make a girl laugh the battle is more than won.
“I mean, when you drop your trousers, you’d rip them off and show them the little nubbin of fury. If they do laugh, you’re halfway there for a peck on the nubbin."
The 'Wonderwall' hitmaker - who was initially married to Meg Matthews from 1997 until 2001 and has 24-year-old daughter Anaïs with her but also has sons Donovan,16, and Sonny, 13, with second wife Sara McDonald - now believes that a relationship can only work if each party is interested in the other for who they are.
He said: "I think if you have to act a certain way [to get a woman] then you’ve to act like that for the rest of your life. She’s either into you for what you are, or the quest continues
These days, the High Flying Birds star - who divorced Sara in 2023 - has gone on a health kick and cut out alcohol for a period of three months in order to deal with the "weird space" the split had landed him in.
He said: "I don’t look like a plastic bag full of wine any more. I don’t look like Pete Doherty — a waddling bag of p***. I’ve got a gym in my flat and I’m cooking and I stopped drinking for three months and stopped doing all that goes with it. It was OK
"I looked f****** rough towards the end of last year. Divorce is a weird thing. You’re in a weird space. You’re drinking and the diet was s**t and then being on the road and smoking and all that — it was great."
