One Direction have confirmed they will take a ''well earned break'' next year.
On Sunday (23.08.15), The Sun newspaper revealed the band would be disbanding in March 2016 following the release of their fifth album and band member Niall Horan has taken to Twitter to dispel rumours of a split, while explaining they will be taking time out following five years together.
He tweeted: ''Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year
''Don't worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve ! Can't wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform (sic).''
Liam Payne also chimed in on the rumours, insisting ''there's so much more to come'' from the 'Drag Me Down' hitmakers.
He tweeted: ''So glad everything has been cleared up today and ur support with it is amazing not that we could ever expect anything less your amazing
''Can't wait to put more time into everything we do and coming out with something great
''Thank you so much for everything you have done for us it's been the most amazing five years and there's so much more to come (sic).''
However, fellow members Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles have avoided commenting on the news, with the latter reportedly being lined up for a huge solo record deal.
An insider revealed: ''Harry has always been One Direction's most popular member and it's obvious that we want to secure him. He's a global superstar.
''Zayn [Malik] will get to release an album first, as he left the band earlier, but the most excitement is about what Harry is going to do.
''Everyone wants to know what his solo material will sound like, there's also a lot of pressure to get it right.''
