Pop star Peter Andre has called Liam Payne's death "heartbreaking" and admitted the tragedy "resonates" with him because he has a son the same age as Liam's boy Bear.
Peter Andre says Liam Payne's death "resonates" with him because he has a son the same age as the singer's boy Bear.
The One Direction star - who was dad to Bear, seven, with his ex Cheryl Tweedy - died last week after plunging from a hotel balcony during a trip to Argentina and Peter has now revealed he really feels for the singer's young son who will have to grow up without a dad.
In his column for new! magazine, Peter wrote: "I was so sad to hear about the death of Liam Payne. It was such a shock to everybody, especially his family and friends and of course his fans.
"He was such a recognisable face around the world and loved by so many, it’s heartbreaking his life was ended so short. It really resonates with me being a father and also having a seven-year-old, and I can’t imagine that loss for his son too. Sending our love and thoughts to his family and friends."
Peter is also dad to a seven-year-old son - Theo - with his wife Emily as well as daughter Amelia, 10, and her younger sister Arabella, who was born in April.
The 'Mysterious Girl' star also has son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 17, with his ex-wife Katie Price.
Tributes for Liam have poured in from around the world in the aftermath of his death last Wednesday (16.10.24).
The 31-year-old singer was remembered by his family in a statement, which read: "Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. “We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."
He was also remembered by his former One Direction bandmates Louis Tomlinson, 32, Zayn Malik, 31, Niall Horan, also 31, and 30-year-old Harry Styles - who were catapulted to global fame after being put together on 'The X Factor' in 2010.
The band released a joint statement to remember their co-star, saying: "We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say.
"But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.
"The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us.
"We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam. - Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry. [sic]"
