With the release of their 20th anniversary re-issue of 1997's 'OK Computer' - entitled 'OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017' - Radiohead have launched two singles thus far, the latest being 'Man Of War' for which they have now unveiled a video.
The video, directed by Colin Read and Connor Kammerer, follows the journey of a man through the streets during both daytime and nighttime. During the day, everything seems normal - he's reading newspapers and strolling in the sun - but as soon as night falls it's a whole other story which sees him turn into a figure of paranoia, running from something and obviously haunted.
It follows first single 'I Promise', which was also accompanied by a creepy video. 'Man Of War' was originally recorded at Abbey Road Studios in 1998 for the film 'The Avengers', though production on the track was never completed. You can catch a glimpse of the initial recording in the documentary 'Meeting People Is Easy'. Originally entitled 'Big Boots', the song was co-produced by their usual collaborator Nigel Godrich.
Radiohead recently headlined the Pyramid Stage on Glastonbury's Friday night, and it was recently revealed that Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will be playing a special one-off show at the Sferisterio in Macerata, Italy on August 20th 2017 as part of a benefit show to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake.
Their last proper album was 2016's 'A Moon Shaped Pool' which reinstated their UK number one streak and featured songs the likes of 'Burn the Witch' and 'Daydreaming'. 'OK NOT OK 1997-2017' was released on June 23rd 2017 through XL Recordings, with 'Man of War' coming just a day before.
