Reba McEntire has opened up about her marriage to Narvel Blackstock, admitting that it was "always business".
Reba McEntire's marriage to Narvel Blackstock "was always business".
The 68-year-old singer was married to Narvel between 1989 and 2015 - but Reba believes that their romance largely centred on a business relationship.
Speaking about her ex-husband on 'The Drew Barrymore Show', Reba shared: "I think it works for some people. They can be married or have a relationship and work together. Our work was all the time."
Narvel served as Reba's manager at one point in time, and the singer admits that business played a huge role in their relationship.
She said: "Our marriage was 26 years.
"We started out working together in the band. He was part of the band, and then became my manager, later on then my husband, but it was a situation that was always business - whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, but it was business."
Narvel pocketed more than $40 million from their 2015 divorce. But the former couple insisted at the time that their split was entirely amicable.
A statement read: "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so."
Reba met her current partner, Rex Linn, for the first time in 1991, before the duo reconnected in January 2020.
And the music star previously revealed that herself and the actor quickly became inseparable after being reunited.
She told PEOPLE: "It's good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what's going on. Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress.
"And he's very into my music. I'm very into his career. It's just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart and is interested in me, too."
