Rita Ora has ''a lot of respect'' for her 'Southpaw' co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.

The 'Poison' hitmaker - who had a small cameo in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' - says she has ''learnt so much'' about acting from watching the Hollywood hunk act alongside 'Mean Girls' actress Rachel McAdams.

Speaking on the Jackie and Kyle O Show on Sydney's KIIS 1065 FM radio station, she said: ''He's great. He is a great guy I have a lot respect for him. He's a very credible person and he is really focused you know. It's really great to watch these people work. I learnt so much.''

The 'Nightcrawler' star also had a lot of praise for the blonde beauty and said he has ''a lot of time for her''.

He recently shared: ''She was great. People will see she brought a lot. I have a lot of time for her.''

Rita plays a ''distressed'' drug addict and prostitute in 'Southpaw' and despite only being a small part, she said it's a ''very effective'' part of the movie.

She added: ''With Jake in 'Southpaw' I have a very small part but, it's a very effective part in the movie.''

'Southpaw' will be released in cinemas worldwide on July 24.
