Simon Bird wants 'The Inbetweeners Movie' sequel to happen before he gets too old.

The 28-year-old star - who portrayed geeky teenager Will McKenzie in the original comedy movie last year - joked he's getting on a bit so he would like to be asked to reprise his role sooner rather than later.

When asked if he's been officially approached by writers Ian Morris and Damien Beesley to do the film, he quipped: ''They haven't done that yet, despite the papers saying that a sequel is confirmed - they'd better hurry up, because I'm getting on for 30!''

While Simon admits he's keen to star in a sequel to 'The Inbetweeners Movie' - a big screen adaptation of the popular British TV comedy series, which also stars James Buckley, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison - he admits the first film was a ''good conclusion'' to the TV show.

He added to Digital Spy: ''I think we all feel like the first film was a good conclusion to 'The Inbetweeners' - but at the same time, [the cast] get on very well and we trust Iain and Damon - the writers.

''So if they come to us and say that they have a good idea for another one, then obviously we'd be happy to talk about it.''
