SKATERS (Formed 2012) SKATERS are an American rock band, consisting of the members Michael Ian Cummings, Joshua Hubbard, Dan Burke, and Noah Rubbin. They are better known for their singles, "I Wanna Dance (But I Don't Know How), and "Deadbolt".
Formation: Singer and songwriter Michael Ian Cummings met English guitarist Josh Hubbard at a party in the summer of 2011. After landing in NYC, Hubbard contacted Cummings, suggesting that they play a gig. They got together with drummer Noah Rubbin and bassist Dan Burke. After playing some successful gigs, SKATERS began. They later signed with Warner Bros Records.
Music Career: They released their debut record "Manhattan" in February 2014. In 2012, the band set out to create an art magazine, YONK. They began to be managed by Nick Bobetsky of Red Light Management. They also recorded their single 'Schemers' around the same time. This was available on their website, with 5 songs available for free download. They reached 10,000 downloads. In April 2013, the band released their first 7-inch single, with "Armed" and "I Wanna Dance (But I Don't Know How)" featured on it.
