Celebrities gathered at the Royal Hospital Chelsea for a sneak preview of the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday (19th May). Amongst the guests were the Queen, Stephen Fry and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Following a week of sultry temperate and – for Britain – near tropical climes, the celebrities were out en masse to take in the sights at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday (19th May).

The annual flower show, which is held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, attracted a vast array of famous faces. The Queen made her yearly visit to the show and found herself wandering through trenches, in a garden created to commemorate the centenary of the beginning of the First World War. The ‘No Man’s Land’ garden, features a crater hole as a pond which acts as a stark reminder of the damage made to, not only the soldiers embroiled in the conflict, but the land on which they fought.
He may not be royal but Stephen Fry is certainly a British institution.
The Queen was joined by a host of famous faces who attended the show’s preview event and enjoyed the champagne whilst viewing the hundreds of beautiful gardens. Another British institution, Stephen Fry, looked dapper wearing a cream pinstripe suit and tulip patterned tie. Whilst the beautiful Lily Cole, wearing flower patterned trousers and a billowing white shirt, posed for photographers in a garden room complete with a tartan arm chair.

Other guests who attended the event included Benedict Cumberbatch who looked remarkably suave, even by his Sherlock standards, in a pale blue suit jacket and trilby. A host of television presenters also had invites including Vanessa Feltz, Nick Knowles and Ben Fogle. Of course, Alan Titchmarsh made an appearance and even contributed to the show with a garden of his own!

But what was Amy Willerton thinking? Last year’s Miss Universe Great Britain winner appeared in the Renaissance garden exhibition in an attempt to evoke Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. The 21-year-old appeared in the garden wearing a pair of white lacy French knickers and little else. Her modesty was protected only a set of hair extensions which reached down to her waist. Willerton posed for photographers in a white shell, whilst standing in a water feature. Why anyone thought this was a good idea remains a mystery.

A modern Venus?
Willerton looked distinctly uncomfortable as she made her way to her shell.
