Ted Nugent blew up at a CBS journalist who questioned his political reviews during an interview this week. The reporter suggested the singer-songwriter wasn't as politically disinterested as he had claimed to be, considering his recent remark that he'd rather be "dead or in jail" than watch President Barack Obama win the next election.
Reporter Jeff Glor told Nugent, "You are many things, but not moderate", with the singer bizarrely replying, "I'm an extremely loving and passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy...and if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll suck your di*k". He then turned to a female producer off camera and added, "Or I'll f*ck you, how's that sound?". At the urging of his wife, Nugent later apologized for the outburst to the female producer, but in a further twist, claimed to have been rushed to hospital with a kidney stone following the interview. His representative told E! News, "We are able to confirm that Mr. Ted Nugent was hospitalized directly following his Cbs This Morning interview for treatment of a kidney stone. It had been bothering him all day, but he was unaware of the severity until he was admitted to the hospital".
Nugent was the lead guitarist with the Amboy Dukes, before embarking on a successful solo career.
