While Terminator Genisys opened in third place behind the dinosaur movie and animated hit Inside Out at the North American box office on Sunday (05Jul15), Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to the franchise was a big draw for film fans outside the U.S.

The blockbuster has surged past Jurassic World to take charge of the number one spot globally thanks to a $102.7 million (£71.4 million) opening weekend at the international box office.

Jurassic World has slipped to second place with a $72.9 million (£48.6 million). Chris Pratt's new movie has now passed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part II and Avengers: Age of Ultron to become the fifth-highest grossing film internationally of all time.

Minions is the world's number three film, while Inside Out and Chinese film A Monk Comes Down The Mountain round out the new top five.
