The Hickey Underworld are back with their second 'I'm Under the house, I'm Dying' set for release on September 24th 2012 on [PIAS] records. It's been two years since their first album and now the Belgian garage rock band are set to release 'The Frog' on July 23rd as the first single from the new album.
Accompanying the single is a fairly depraved music video directed by Joe Vanhoutteghem. It features a repetitive cycle involving lead vocalist Younes Faltakh and various actors taking it in turns to jump out of a window and punch each other. It's an unusual concept to grasp but is nonetheless innovative and inimitable. The track itself is a heavily percussion led courtesy of Jimmy Wouters, with an eerie guitar and keyboard riff throughout.
The track has a good chance of rivalling their previous radio hit 'Future Words'. Band members Younes, Jimmy, Jonas Govaerts (guitar) and Georgios Tsakiridis (bass) seem to certainly have been busy since then. Younes reveals plans to launch a perfume for tramps entitled 'Vagrance' in case he ever becomes one, Jonas has become infected with a disease of the middle-ear called Schmenisres, Georgios confesses to starting his own adult website and Jimmy wants plastic surgery to make him look less like Michael Shack.
