Twisted Sister star Dee Snider has raised $325,000 (£203,000) in support of women's reproductive health charities following his eviction from U.S. reality series Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday (01Apr12).
The frontman signed up as a contestant on the show in a bid to raise money for the March of Dimes, which works to help expectant mothers through pregnancy and provide support to infants with birthing problems.
And although Snider was booted from the show prematurely, the singer/actor still managed to hand over a massive cheque to his favourite charity, and March of Dimes president Dr. Jennifer L. Howse couldn't be more touched by Snider's gift.
She says, "Dee is a true champion for all babies. We are blessed to have a volunteer like Dee Snider. He is both an exceptional March Of Dimes volunteer and a wonderful person. We are thrilled by the generosity of his time and donation.
"These funds will directly support our mission to give all babies a healthy start in life and our National Prematurity Prevention Campaign."
The organisation's mission is very near and dear to Snider's heart - two of the rocker's own sons were born prematurely.
Singer Debbie Gibson was also fired from The Celebrity Apprentice during a double elimination ceremony on Sunday.
