After an interview earlier this month where she said she was "too angry" to speak about it, Thurman has now broken her silence on the Weinstein scandal.
Uma Thurman has spoken out on the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the ongoing stream of allegations of sexual misconduct emerging against him, saying: “you don’t deserve a bullet”.
The 47 year old star, who has worked on seven movies that have featured the involvement of Weinstein’s companies including Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill films, posted a picture of herself as The Bride from Kill Bill on Instagram on Thursday (November 23rd).
On its surface, the post was intended to mark Thanksgiving in a message to her followers, but she also used it to break her silence properly on the sexual abuse scandal that has engulfed the film industry for the last eight weeks.
Uma Thurman has broken her silence on the Weinstein scandal
Earlier in November, Thurman spoke in a video interview with Access Hollywood that she was too angry to discuss the Weinstein scandal. Now, however, she also seemed to reveal that she too had been a victim of sexual harassment and abuse in Hollywood.
Captioning the photo, and writing in an ominous style reminiscent of her vengeful Kill Bill character, she said she was “grateful today, to be alive, for all those I love, and for all those who have the courage to stand up for others”.

“I said I was angry recently, and I have a few reasons, #metoo, in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face… I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so… Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet).”
The post ended with the phrase “stay tuned”, possibly meaning that she intends to name names in the future.
Thurman’s post was quickly acknowledged by fellow actor Rose McGowan, who has been one of the most forthright of Weinstein’s accusers since the New York Times story broke in early October. “Hi Uma. Welcome,” she wrote.
